Two Brothers Artisan Spirits to release new Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey

AURORA, IL — The new Two Brothers Artisan Spirits Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is truly one-of-a-kind.
Distilled and barreled in the Two Brothers Roundhouse – a historic landmark and the oldest limestone roundhouse in the U.S. – this non-chill filtered whiskey was exposed to an unparalleled environment during the aging process.
“We wanted to create a world-class whiskey with an innovative Two Brothers’ spin. We used our craft experience and access to one of the most unique distilleries in the country to do just that.” Two Brothers co-founder Jason Ebel said.
To create this flavor-forward whiskey, Two Brothers brewed and fermented a complex wash of five different grains at its brewery in Warrenville, IL. It was then distilled and put into barrels at the Two Brothers Artisan Spirits distillery, located within the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora, IL.
There it was aged in the 164-year-old, 70,000-square-foot limestone building, using the wild temperatures swings of Illinois and the cavernous space of the Roundhouse to create an ideal aging environment. As the temperature and humidity fluctuated within the building, the whiskey was able to expand and contract in and out of the wood, allowing the notes of the barrel to come to the forefront.
Upon maturity, the whiskey was then blended with a couple select barrels from other distilleries, including a 4-year-old rye and 3-year-old wheat bourbon, to create a small batch bourbon as unique as its historical home
The Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is the newest release in a growing barrel-aged program for Two Brothers Artisan Spirits, which include products like Barrel Aged Solera Amaro. Currently aging are a Barrel Aged Rum and Single Barrel Whiskey, among others.
“When we got into the spirits world, we knew we wanted to use our experience in barrel aging to produce some really fun and creative products. We are really proud of how this whiskey turned out and are very excited for our future products currently aging,” said Ebel.
Available in 750ml bottles, the Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey will be available starting in December on an extremely limited basis throughout the Chicagoland area and through the distillery.
